History

Indian Matriculation Higher Secondary School called as ischool Chennai known for its excellence in education, was established in 1984, recognised by the government of Tamil Nadu.

Our School is a co-educational institution with English as a medium of instruction. Today i-School has grown into a full fledged institution with around 500 students enrolment, 30 teaching and non teaching staff.

We provide a rich curriculum, which follows the CCE system from KG to class XII.
Beyond the framework requisition of the Tamil Nadu state curriculum, we extended ourselves, to ensure global learning.
We have developed an exciting and innovative model of teaching for our Curriculum where our skilled teachers use X-seed learning methodology which caters for children of all abilities attempting to develop each child's potential to the full.

We keep Students up to date on what's happening on campus outside the classroom, featuring a wide range of activities of students such as summer camps programs, Health checkup, cultural programmes etc. The students will also get an opportunity to be trained in karate, silambam, arts, fine arts and crafts.

Guidance is provided to students aimed not just at fostering academic success, but also at cultivating the spirit of entrepreneurship, leadership, teamwork and group dynamics.

We believe that every individual is unique with different IQ levels. Our teachers are capable in taking care of each and every child as per their specific needs.
Slow learners require extra attention. Hence we offer special coaching classes for our students where our teachers provide tailored instructions, specialised support and crucial resources and services for the great achievement in academics.

Classroom :
Classroom facilities can have a profound impact on student outcomes. It can affect health, behaviour, engagement, learning and growth in achievement.
Every classroom of our school is built keeping in mind, primary facets of school, such as less external noise, rich ventilation system, appropriate natural light, proper temperature control of the classroom and ample & adequate space with proper seating arrangement facilities.
Each classroom is colorful without being obnoxious. There will be multimedia equipment in the room and also there will be a working wall where students can post ideas making the learning environment more engaging and fun.

Audio Visual room :
Interactive learning sessions are held in an AV room which is well equipped with an LCD projector and large screen.
We use different educational DVDs for different subjects for different classes.
The teacher uses 3d animations, powerpoint presentations and slideshows to bring lessons to life.

Library :
Our Library provides students with a well stocked and exciting centre for independent work and research.
There are more than 2000 books to gain knowledge, skills and personal development.
Other than academic subjects, we have books on health, psychology, sports and games, biographies, moral stories, magazines and newspapers read enthusiastically by pupils and staff.

Computer Laboratory :
In keeping with requirements of a progressive educational institution, we have fully equipped computer labs.
Both theoretical classes and practical classes are held. Students are trained to operate the computer themselves. This helps those children who cannot afford to own computers.

Science, Geography and History Laboratories :
Well equipped and modern laboratories have been set up for physics, chemistry and biology. There are models, charts, apparatus, kits and experimental gadgets to cater the needs of students. It is the best opportunity for the students to discover the laws of Science which governs a certain phenomenon or verify a given law which has been derived from a theory.

In geography and History Laboratories, students get the opportunity of identifying themselves with important historical and geographical concepts, ideas, principles, phases, resulting in a great understanding of the trends and issues involved in the study of these disciplines.
Playground facilities : The school has a large playing field to accommodate various games and sports activities. Our sports curriculum is planned and designed for students to develop and enhance skills like strength, speed, endurance, agility, flexibility, control, balance etc. Students are trained by physical education teachers to promote physical fitness and to teach the value of proper health and eating habits. The playground has a dedicated fields for different sports Such as valley ball field, basketball, shuttlecock, throwball, Kho-kho, Kabaddi. We also have a separate room for indoor games like table tennis, chess and carrom. Students are trained for athletic games also under the guidance of qualified instructors. Medical facilities : Our school places high importance on the health and safety of its staff and students. First aid is given to all minor injuries and we also have medical room to accommodate the students falling sick during the school hours. We also help students for emergency transportation to hospitals or clinics.
